As a society, most of us would agree that the most important resource we have is our children. If our kids are to be protected, we must demand that Congress pass legislation that ensures that appropriate, medically necessary therapy cannot be denied by any insurance company or health trust for children.
Doctors emphasize how very important it is for a cancer patient to stay positive during therapy. They say that many times a postive attitude is the only difference between success and the death of that child. The role of the parent staying positive with their child during therapy, is perhaps the most challenging responsibility of all. If parents are put in a position to fight both cancer and the insurance company, the task becomes very difficult for the parent and child to remain positive. Children can see the toll this type of negative stress can have on their family and simply give up, believing that they are the cause and reason for the family's problems.
We, as parents, need to do what's right for our kids, and the insurance companies just need to do what is right! Please help your children and all the children of this great nation, by doing something about this travisty on young people. Call your Senator or Congressman today and say, children need to live.
